July

Ab jetzt werden wir jedes Monatsende unser Bild des Monats vorstellen; die Fotografie, die uns diesen Monat am besten Gefallen hat. Unser erster BdM haben wir in St. Georg gefunden; der Graffitischriftzug 'Catch me if you can', der in St. Georg ziemlich oft zu finden ist, umrahmt von Efeu. Hoffentlich gefällt es euch genau so gut wie uns! //

From now on we will show you our picture of the month at every end of the month; a photography, that we liked best in that particular month. Our first Potm we  found in St. George; Graffiti lettering saying 'Catch me if you can', which can be found in St. George quite often. We found one that was surrounded by ivy and looks pretty cool. We hope you like it just as much as we do!

Dom

Dom. Jeder kennt es, jeder liebt es. Auch wenn man keine Achterbahn fährt findet jeder etwas, was ihm gefällt. Ob sein Geld für Lose auszugeben oder sich massen an Zuckerwatte zu kaufen.
 Der Sommerdom ist noch bis zum 24 August auf dem Heiligengeistfeld, also schaut vorbei! //

Dom. Everyone knows what it is, everyone loves it. Even if you don't go on roller coasters, everyone finds something they like. Whether you like spending loads of money on cotton candy or on rides, the Dom is a good destination.
  The Sommerdom is still open until the 24th August at the Heiligengeistfeld, so drop by!

TIPP: Photoautomat // Photo machine

Ein must-have wenn du nach Hamburg kommst! Die 'Photoautomaten' sind viel besser als die gewöhnlichen Fotoautomaten  in den man neben Passbildern auch 'Spaßbilder' machen kann, die mit einer Technik aus den 1960'er fotografisch entwickelt werden.

Einfach in den Automaten setzten, 2€ einwerfen und es werden in kurzen Abständen 4 schwarz-weiß Bilder von dir gemacht. Der Clou: Du kannst  dich nicht sehen. Vor dir ist lediglich eine kleine Vorgabe, auf welcher Höhe du deine Augen platzieren sollst. Die Bilder werden innerhalb von 4 Minuten fotografisch entwickelt, und nebenbei kannst du gleich neue machen. ;) 

Den Automaten findest du in Hamburg, am Neuen Kamp 32, sowie in 3 weiteren Bundsländern und in Wien, London und Florenz. //

A must-have when you come to Hamburg! This 'photo booth' is much better than ordinary photo booths because it takes 'funny pics', that are developed with a foto print technique from the 1960's.

Simply sit inside the machine, insert 2 € and in 4 short intervals 4 ​​black-and-white pictures are taken of you. The twist: You can not see how you look like whil the photos are taken. In front of you is only a small target, at what height you should place your eyes. The pictures are printed within 4 minutes and while waiting you can take  new ones. ;) 

You can find the machines in Hamburg, Neuer Kamp 32, and in Vienna, London and Florence.

TIPP: Crêpesaffaire

Dieser Crêpe-Laden am Bahnhof Blankeneese punktet mit seiner Vielfalt an Crêpes, wobei nicht nur süße oder herzhafte Crêpes dabei sind, sondern auch eine große Auswahl an vegetarischen Crêpes vorhanden ist.  Auch dabei waren leckere Muffinsorten, Waffeln und anderes Gebäck. Die Einrichtung lud einen förmlich ein, sich hinzusetzen und den Crêpe zu genießen. Wenn man sich aber für den Crêpe- to-Go entscheidet, wird einem der Crêpe in einem Papiertütchen gereicht.

Insgesamt fehlte dem Laden an nichts. Freundliche Bedienung, guter Sitzkomfort und eine Treuekarte zum abstempeln. Nachdem man 12 Felder auf der Karte voll hat, die nur durch den Kauf eines Crêpe abgestempelt werden kann man sich zwischen einem gratis Getränk, gratis Eis-Topping oder einem gratis Crêpe entscheiden.

Fazit: Crêpesaffaire ist ein rundum schönes Café mit dem einzigen Nachteil, dass die Treuekarte nur durch den Kauf von einem Crêpes abgestempelt wird.  //

This crêpe shop is located at the Blankenese train station. They sell a variety of pancakes, including not only sweet or savory crêpes, but also a large selection of vegetarian crêpes. Delicious muffins, waffles and other pastries are also sold here. The cosy little room is an invatation to sit down an enjoy .
Overall, the store wasn't missing anything. Good service & seating comfort and a loyalty card.  Once you have 12 fields full  you to choose between a free drink, free ice cream topping or a free crepe.

Conclusion: Crêpes affair is an all around nice cafe with the only disadvantage that the loyalty card is stamped only with when you purchase a crepes.

P.S.: Wenn man Geburtstag hat, sollte man erst recht den Laden besuchen. Denn wenn man seinen           Ausweis mitbringt, bekommt man einen gratis Crêpe seiner Wahl geschenkt :)//

PS: If it's your birthday, you should certainly visit the store, because if you bring your ID, you get a free crêpe as a gift :)

TIPP: L'Oréal Elvital Öl Magique

Heute haben wir unseren ersten Beauty-Post für euch; einen Review vom Haaröl 'Elvital Öl Magique' von L'Oréal Paris. Wir benutzen dieses Haaröl jetzt schon seit einigen Monaten und sind begeistert von den Ergebnissen. Man kann das Öl vor dem Haare waschen, vor dem Föhnen oder auch mal dazwischen benutzen. Es verspricht auf der Verpackung 'das Haar unwiderstehlich und seidig' zu machen, ein Versprechen, was es absolut einhält. Das Öl was wir heute reviewen ist für alle Haartypen geeignet, LOréal hat aber noch andere Öle, z.B. speziell für feines Haar. Die Verpackung ist aus Glas und man kann das Öl durch den Pumpstoßer herauspumpen, wobei man für das gesamte Haar je nach Haarstruktur 3-5 Pumpstöße braucht. Das Haaröl ist ein rundum tolles Produkt, denn es erfüllt nicht nur die pflegenden Erwartungen, sondern riecht auch noch super gut. Für 8.99€ je 100ml ist es auf jeden Fall ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. //

Today we've got our first Beauty-Post for you; a review of the hairoil from L'Oréal Paris 'Elvital Öl Magique'. We have been using this hairoil  for a couple of months now and are impressed by the results. The packaging promises to make your hair 'unresistible and silky', which it absolutely does. The oil that we are reviewing today is usable for any hairtype, but L'Oréal has also brought out some other oils, e.g. especially for dry hair. The packaging is made of glass and has a pump lid so you can pump out the product - depending on your hair structure you only need 3-5 pumps. The hairoil is a great product, because it's not only meeting your expectations, but also smells really good. 8.99€ per 100ml it's a very good deal for such a great product.

Budni Automat - Lütte Kiste // Budni vendor - 'Lütte Kiste'

Einer von wenigen Budni Automaten, auch Plattdeutsch Lütte Kiste genannt, finden man in dem Budni in St. Georg.

In der sogenannten Lütten Kiste findet man alles notwendige und vielleicht auch eher nicht notwendige was man braucht, wenn der Drogeriemarkt geschlossen hat. Shampoo, Schokolade, Milch und sogar Rasierer kann man sich, wie in einem Süßigkeitenautomat,
'ziehen'. Die Preise sind zwar teurer als im Laden, aber was tut man nicht alles um am Sonntag seine geliebte Schokolade zu kriegen. //

In the streets of St. Georg you can find one of the rather rare 'Budni-vending-machines', that hold everything you might need on a sunday when the drugstore is closed; shampoo, chocolade, milk and even razors. The prices are a bit more expensive than in the actual shop but what does one not do to get ones chocolate.

TIPP: Peaberries Coffee

Das Peaberries Café in der Gurlittstraße 46, in St. Georg ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Es werden dort Bagels, belegte Brötchen und Croissants verkauft, die man sich auf Wunsch auch aufwärmen lassen kann. Das Café ist unter anderem eine Kaffeerösterei, dass alle seine Kaffees selbst herstellt. Man kann alles, was zum Verkauf steht, auch To-Go mitnehmen, falls man mal nicht die Zeit hat, die gemütliche Atmosphäre im Café zu genießen.

Fazit: Uns hat das Café sehr gut gefallen und werden auf jeden Fall öfters vorbeischauen. //

The Peaberries cafe in the Gurlittstraße 46 in St. George is definitely worth a visit. The little cafe sells bagels, sandwiches and croissants, all of which you can get heated up on request. The cafe is among other things a coffee roaster that produced all its coffee that is
sold in the shop. Everything that is on display can also be taken to-go, if you don't have the time to enjoy the cozy atmosphere in the café.

Conclusion: We really liked the cafe and will stop by it more often in future.

BluePort 2014

Das BluePort Event wurde auf seine Art schön gestaltet. Blaue Lichter überall und Musik für jeden Geschmack, jedoch muss man sagen, das die Fotos der vergangenen BluePort Events und der Werbung mehr versprochen haben als zu sehen war. Problem war einfach das es noch viel zu hell war und die Idee mit der App zu wenig rumkam, sodass nicht viele Leute darüber bescheid wussten und der geplante Effekt blieb aus. Trotzdessen war es ein schöner Abend, den man gut mit Freunden oder der Familie verbringen konnte. //

The Blue Port Event was designed beautiful in its own way. Blue lights everywhere and music for all tastes, but we must say that the pictures of the past BluePort events and advertising have promised more than there was to be seen. The problem was simply that it was still too bright as for the lights to be in the foreground and the idea with the app was not spread around enough , so not many people knew about it and the planned effect did not take place. Despite all of that, it was a nice evening, that could be well spent with friends or family.

St.Georg

Einen Tag lang waren wir in St. Georg unterwegs und haben uns von dem kleinem Stadtteil in Hamburg verzaubern lassen. Von Cafés bis zu kleinen Krimskrams-Läden war alles dabei. Besonders hat uns die 'Lange Reihe' gefallen, da es dort eine Vielfalt  an ausgefallenen Läden gibt. Die 'Lange Reihe' gilt als eine der schönsten Straßen mit Altbauten in Hamburg und gehört zu den Top 50 der Hamburger Straßen mit den teuersten Wohnungen. //

A whole day long we travelled along the streets of St. Georg and were enchanted by the magic of the little borough of Hamburg. From small Cafés to little that sell almost anything, everything was there. The 'Lange Reihe' was especially interesting, as you can find a diversity of unusual shops here. The 'Lange Reihe' is one of the most beautiful streets with old buildings in Hamburg and is among the top 50 of the streets with the most expensive apartements in Hamburg.

    ''Friends of frozen yogurt'' gibt es zwei mal in Hamburg und das Besondere an der Filiale in der Langen          Reihe ist, dass es dort auch warme Suppen gibt. //

     You can find ''Friends of frozen yogurt'' twice in Hamburg. This special thing about this branch is that they      sell warm soups.

  In St. Georg ist die Straßenkunst weit verbreitet, gewollte und von der Stadt eher ungewollte Kunstwerke sind überall zu finden, obwohl beides den Stadtteil einen besonderen Flair gibt. //

Streetart is very common in St. Georg, both delieberate and more or less undesired pieces of art, although both together give the borrough its flair.

BluePort 2014

Morgen Abend findet zum dritten Mal der BluePort Event in Hamburg statt - und wir sind natürlich dabei! Eine Woche lang wird der Hamburger Hafen mit über 12000 Lichtern blau beleuchtet. Das Besondere dieses Jahres ist, dass jeder mit einem Smartphone sich eine App herunterladen kann, um ein Teil des Lichterspecktakels zu sein. Komm vorbei und sei ein weiteres Licht der Stadt!


Tomorrow night the BluePort event is happening for the third time in Hamburg - and of course we´ll be there! For one week the Hamburg Harbour will be illuminated with 12000 blue lights. The special thing this year is that everyone with a smartphone can download an app to be a part of the event. Give it a look and be another light of the city!
